Know what a day can include
A game-viewing day may involve an early start, time watching wildlife from a vehicle and a pause for meals or a rest. A transfer day can involve much more road travel. Read the daily programme and ask how these different days are balanced across the trip.
Bring your interests into the conversation. A photographer may want time with a single sighting, while a family may prefer shorter outings. Explain your priorities before accommodation and routing are finalised.
Ask about the vehicle and room arrangements
Our safari game drives use a 4x4 Land Cruiser. Check whether your quotation is for a private or shared journey, how many people will travel together, and whether any separate transfer uses a different arrangement.
Accommodation labels are only a starting point. Ask for the property names, location, room or tent type and meal plan. For climbing trips, check the hut or campsite arrangements and which equipment the operator provides.
Prepare around the actual itinerary
Ask your safari specialist for packing guidance based on the destinations and transport in your confirmed itinerary. A mountain climb, a city excursion and a wildlife safari need different preparation. Tell the team about relevant practical needs early so that the available arrangements can be discussed.
Keep the written itinerary, included services and final price together. Before paying, make sure you understand the booking terms, cancellation conditions and any remaining items you need to arrange yourself.
